Active production orders board and workshop display

Essential, Advanced and Integral plans

The board for working on production orders from the production floor, processes with timer and alarm, and how to pair a TV as a workshop display.

What it is for

The Active production orders board is the production floor’s screen. It shows all the orders that are queued or in production as cards, and lets you start them, move their processes forward and keep an eye on the timers without opening each order. It’s designed for a computer or tablet that stays switched on at the workstation.

The workshop display is its read-only version for a TV or a large monitor: the whole team can see what’s being made and how long each bake has left. It’s used by the production team and the manager.

Before you start

  • Have production orders created and planned (see Production orders).
  • To see timers, set up the processes with a timer and their usual duration in the recipe (see Process control).
  • The board is available to the administrator, the manager and users with permission to create orders. Setting up badges and displays is the manager’s job.

The board, step by step

Go to Production orders › Active production orders. At the top you choose to see All, only those Queued, those In production or Mine only.

Stop alarm
Pastelería La Plaza’s board first thing in the morning.
  1. 1Process with a timer: the countdown runs here and on the workshop display.
  2. 2Time is up: the alarm sounds wherever you’ve chosen until someone stops it.
1

Start production

On the card of the pending order, click Start production. It moves to the In production column.

2

Start and finish each process

Click Start process. If the process has a timer, adjust the Minutes if you need more or less today (it’s saved for this time only) and click Start. When it’s done, Finish step or Advance process to move on to the next one.

3

Keep an eye on the timers

When the time is up, the card shows Time is up and a notice appears with the number of processes that have finished their time. Use Stop alarm on the card or Silence all.

4

Weigh and finish

From the card you can Weigh ingredients with the scale. To deduct lots and finish, open the order.

The workshop display (TV)

On the board, click Operator badge · Paired displays. In the Workshop display block:

1

Open the address on the TV

Copy the Display address with Copy and open it in the browser of the TV or of the computer connected to the monitor.

2

Pair it with the code

On the computer, click Pair a display: a Pairing code appears that expires in 15 minutes. Type it on the TV and click Pair.

3

Done

The display shows the queued and in-production orders with their timers and refreshes itself. In Paired displays you see the Last connection of each one, choose how many cards fit (3×2, 4×3 or 5×4) and can Revoke access.

Tips

Tip

At a shared workstation, each operator can scan their QR badge on the board to see their orders and sign off their work without switching sessions. If you also weigh, see Scales and weighing.

Important

If the alarm needs to be heard on the production floor, keep the volume on for the device where it sounds. The browser may mute the sound until someone touches the screen once.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to reload the board page?
No. The board refreshes itself every short while and the timers tick every second. It’s designed to stay open all day on the production floor’s computer or tablet.
Does the workshop display need a username and password?
No. It’s paired once with a single-use code that expires after 15 minutes. After that it shows the orders in progress without logging in, and you can revoke its access whenever you like from Paired displays.
Can I change the baking time from one day to the next?
Yes. When you click Start process, the board lets you adjust the minutes for that time only. The usual duration stays in the recipe.
Where does the alarm sound when the time is up?
You choose it in Where the alarm sounds: On this PC only, On the display only or On the PC and on the display. Silence all stops all the alarms at once.
