Monthly menu calendar
Integral plan
Plan the menu for every day of the month by dragging recipes, with their allergens, and publish it for your diners with a QR code.
What it is for
School canteens, care homes, catering companies and central kitchens publish the menu for each day every month, with the allergens of each dish. Doing it in a spreadsheet means copying the allergens by hand and redoing the document every time a recipe changes.
The menu calendar lets you plan the month by dragging recipes onto each day. The allergens come from the recipes, and the calendar is published for your diners with a QR code. It is used by whoever plans the menus and whoever deals with families or customers.
Before you start
- It is included in the Integral plan and has to be switched on: in Extensions, look for Menu calendar and switch it on. Only the account owner can do this. See Extensions.
- Have the recipes for the dishes with their allergens checked. If this is your first time, read Menus.
Creating the calendar
New calendar
In the side menu, Menus › Calendars. Click New calendar, type the name (“School canteen · 2026-27 year”) and click Confirm.
Design and style
In the Design and style panel: Subtitle, Notes, Allergens text (the legal note that goes with the calendar), background, text and accent colours, typography, size, Show weekends and Main image. Click Save.
Fill in each day
Click a day. In the window, add the Recipes of the day with Search recipe to add…, a Note of the day if needed (“Gluten-free day”) and an Image of the day. Clear day leaves it blank.
Adjust the month
Move around with the arrows or go back to Today. Drag a recipe from one day to another to change its date, and use Autofill weekends if the weekend repeats Friday's menu.
Publish
Click Public view: the month's calendar opens with your company details, ready to print or save as PDF, with a QR code that leads to the online version.
| Monday 5 | Tuesday 6 | Wednesday 7 | Thursday 8 | Friday 9 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pumpkin soup Roast chicken Milk |
Lentil stew Battered hake Gluten · Fish · Egg |
Vegetable rice Spanish omelette Egg |
Macaroni with tomato Meatballs Gluten · Egg |
Salad Butter croissant Gluten · Milk · Egg |
- 1Autofill weekends: copies Friday to Saturday and Sunday for the whole month.
- 2Public view: the month's calendar to print, with the QR code that leads to the online version.
In institutional catering you must give the allergens of every dish. Check the calendar's Allergens text and make sure every recipe has its allergens and traces complete before publishing the month. More in Allergen labelling.
Tips
- Create one calendar per site or per type of diner (children, adults, gluten-free diet) instead of mixing them.
- When you change a recipe, print the month's calendar again: the online version is already up to date, but the paper is not.
- If you also produce those menus, plan the preparation with production planning.
