Dobbox temperature sensors

How to connect Dobbox sensors so that your cold room temperatures are recorded automatically in your HACCP records.
What it is for
Writing down the temperature of every cold room twice a day is one of the records most often forgotten. If you have Dobbox sensors, Recipok reads their temperatures and creates the HACCP temperature records automatically, at the times you choose, in each cold room’s location.
That way your cold chain record is complete even if nobody remembers, at night and on bank holidays too. The administrator sets it up once; after that it runs by itself.
Before you start
- Dobbox sensors installed and working, with your Dobbox account (email and password) and the identifier of each sensor.
- Your cold rooms set up as locations, with their temperature range.
- The connection is made by the administrator.
Connect your Dobbox account
In the user menu (top right), go to Integrations and open the Dobbox tab. Enter the email address and password of your Dobbox account and click Save. If the details are correct, you’ll see that the credentials have been saved.
Add each sensor
Go to HACCP › Dobbox (Temperature sensor management screen) and click New Dobbox sensor:
Name and Dobbox ID
Give it a recognisable name (“Cold room 1 sensor”) and the sensor’s Dobbox ID, exactly as it appears in Dobbox.
Location
Choose the Recipok Location where the sensor is. Records will be created in that location and compared with its range.
Frequency and first time
Choose the Measurement frequency (every 6 hours, every 12 hours or every 24 hours) and the First run time. For example, every 12 hours from 07:00 records at 07:00 and 19:00. Click Save.
| Name | Location | Measurement frequency | First run time | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cold room 1 sensor | Cold room 1 · dairy | 12 hours | 07:00 | 1Query sensor |
| Freezer sensor | Freezer | 6 hours | 00:00 | Query sensor |
| Display cabinet sensor | Shop display cabinet | 24 hours | 09:00 | Query sensor |
- 1Query sensor: reads the latest temperature right then and saves it as a record, without waiting for the next scheduled time.
How the records look
Each reading creates a Temperature record in the sensor’s location, with the date and time of the sensor’s last communication. You see them alongside the rest in HACCP › HACCP records and they appear in the Excel and PDF reports. In HACCP › Dobbox you can search and filter sensors, query them manually or delete them.
Tips
Choose a frequency that matches the one in your food safety management plan: if your plan says two records a day, set 12 hours. Check the HACCP records from time to time to see any out-of-range temperatures and note the corrective action.
If the sensor stops communicating with Dobbox (no signal, flat battery), Recipok has no reading to save. If you see gaps in the records, check the sensor in the Dobbox app.
