Ingredient Portal: the manufacturers’ catalogue

All plans

Search products published by manufacturers and distributors and import them into your catalogue with their allergens, nutrition and technical sheet, without typing.

What it is for

The Ingredient Portal is a catalogue of products published on Recipok by the manufacturers themselves. Each product comes with its allergens, its nutrition information and, often, its technical sheet. Instead of typing all of that, you import it with one click into your ingredient list.

It is useful when you are getting started and have lots of ingredients to add, and every time you buy a new product from a manufacturer that publishes on Recipok. The data comes from whoever makes the product, not from an estimate.

Before you start

  • The portal is available on all plans, under Ingredients › Ingredients Portal.
  • Have your purchase price to hand: the one the manufacturer shows, if any, may not be yours.

Search the catalogue

At the top you have the search box and the filters: Filter by company (the manufacturer), Filter by family and Exclude the following allergens, to see only products without, for example, nuts. Clear filters shows everything again. As you scroll down, more products load.

Each card shows the photo, name, description, allergens (and traces), the manufacturer and its town and, if the manufacturer allows it, the price.

Import a product

1

Click “Import”

Recipok creates the ingredient in My ingredients with the manufacturer’s data: allergens, nutrition, format, codes, photo and technical sheet.

2

Add the manufacturer as a supplier

If the manufacturer is not yet one of your suppliers, Recipok asks “Do you want to add … as a supplier?”. Click Confirm and it is added to your suppliers, linked to the ingredient.

3

Check it and set your price

Hover over the card and click Edit: the ingredient sheet opens. Check the purchase price, the supplier and the allergens, and save.

Without opening the portal: matches when you create an ingredient

You don’t need to go to the portal every time. When you create an ingredient in My ingredients and type its name, Recipok shows the Matches from the ingredient Portal. If you pick one, the sheet is filled in with its data (“Data filled in from the portal ingredient. Review and save.”).

If you are a manufacturer: publish your products

Manufacturer accounts have the Information and advertising tab on the ingredient sheet. Tick Public product so it appears on the portal, add a Product description, an External link, Keywords and the Family, and decide whether you want to Show price (the recommended retail price or the wholesale price). In the same place you see the Views and Clicks each product gets.

Tips

Important

Even though the data comes from the manufacturer, check the allergens against the sheet that comes with your order. If the manufacturer changes the recipe, your ingredient is not updated automatically.

Tip

For raw materials whose manufacturer is not on the portal, use the template import and then read their technical sheets.

Frequently asked questions

Does importing from the portal cost anything?
No. Importing a product from the Ingredient Portal does not use any scans and is free of charge.
What data is copied when I import?
Name, reference, brand, barcode, unit, format, allergens, nutrition information, family, description, photo and the manufacturer’s attached technical sheet, plus its generic component. The price is only copied if the manufacturer shows it on the portal.
My supplier doesn’t appear on the portal. What do I do?
The portal only shows what manufacturers publish on Recipok. If your supplier isn’t there, fill in the ingredient by reading its technical sheet or by hand: see Allergens, traces and nutrition information.
Can I change the data after importing?
Yes. The imported ingredient is yours: click Edit on the card or open it from My ingredients and adjust whatever you need, starting with your purchase price.
